"Both of these CD are wonderful. I am Czech but live in the US for the last 25 years. My friends took me to a Cechomor concert last February while I was visiting the Czech republic. I was very impressed with them live, the energy they project is unbelievable. What impressed me the most that there were no gimmicks, no gyrating dancers, no artificial stimulus, just the music and their craftmanship and the joy it obviously gives them. They sing centuries old folk songs revised for the modern palete. They appeal to the older crowd as well as the young. By the way, the Promeny CD is also a DVD with english subtitles. Wonderful! And if you really want to know what the lyrics say, go to their website: www.cechomor.cz All the texts are published in english there. This group has also made a very good movie with Jazz Coleman called Rok Dabla, or Year of the Devil. I highly recommend them to anyone who appreciates music."
