A perfect voice

"I wonder how many opera lovers search for a perfect tenor. I've been searching all my life, and so far, Carlo Bergonzi fits the bill better than any tenor I've ever heard. I discovered him on opera anthology CDs and came searching for CDs devoted entirely to him, and this is one that I love. His voice is incredibly powerful, rich in tone and beautiful. I highly recommend him to all opera lovers and music lovers in general. There are other Bergonzi CDs available and some DVDs. Again highly recommended. If you love opera, you will love Carlo Bergonzi. Apparently this singer started as a baritone, and then retrained his voice to become a tenor. Perhaps the baritone range is what gives his voice such depth and power. I only know it's magnificent."

"This CD provides with some finest singing you can find on records. Arias are well chosen and gorgeously sung. I am a huge fan of Bergonzi and can assure you he is a first class musician. His tenor voice is warm, rich, round. My favourite arias would be those from MANON LESCAUT & ADRIANA LECOUVREUR but it is "Come un bel di di maggio" from ANDREA CHENIER that took my breath away - the best sung aria I've heard ever. Do not hesitate - grab this disc while you can, it's a jewel."
