"All of you are hereby instructed to bypass any cd that has the label "TeeVee" on it.
Once again they have taken late period remakes, this time from Carl Smith, and packaged them like they were the originals.
I love Carl Smith's output from the 1950's, 60's and even some of the 1970's. The music here was taken from some session in the 1980's, and honestly Mr. Smith just doesn't seem like he was too excited.
Please avoid this collection and look for "The Essential Carl Smith," and "The 60's Hits of Carl Smith.""
Not prime-time Carl Smith but still okay

"The reviewer who gave this collection 1 star was being terribly unfair (he always gives remakes 1 star). While these are indeed remakes, Smith is in good voice and the performances are good, indeed far better than most remakes (there was a Columbia double album issued in 1972 of Carl Smith classics remade with a strong western swing feel that I wish would be issued on CD). For many years the original versions of these songs were unavailable, and these were the only available recordings. All of Carl's big hits are here and listeners who have not heard the originals will enjoy them tremendously. While I now have the original versions on CD, I still listen to this CD on occasion as I enjoy the contrasting arrangements and instrumentation, particularly on the uptempo numbers such a "Deep Water" and "Go Boy Go"."
