"Progressive world electronica music from San Francisco, "Calling Shiva" has Hindi, English, Tibetan and French influences. Caren Hope Project is an original musical collaboration between Jay Williams ("Jaswho") and Yogi Per Marshall. Producer, engineer, musician Jaswho is currently music director at the large Temple SF nightclub. Originally from Philadelphia, Per Marshall attended Berklee College of Music and has jazz, funk, folk, and pop roots. Together, the two men have created a fusion of synthesized sounds that have strong spiritual underpinnings. Ancient tones meld with the contemporary to form a hybridization of danceable melodies and rhythms. With repeating lyrics like "spread your wings and fly," the uplifting messages are predominantly ones of optimism, courage, love, prosperity and destiny. Besides Per Marshall, vocalists include Danya River, Alison Alstrom, Thea Izzi, Kim Cunio, Hitesh Ramji, Flyeuro and Heather Lee. Onyx Ashanti plays horns and flutes on "French Toast." "Calling Shiva" is an inspiring collection of danceable and funky vibrations. These joyful musical interactions with the world allow us to connect to the energy of the universe.
