"Caravelli, along with Mauriat, Pourcel and Lefevre are France's response to Mantovani, Chacksfield, Aldrich and Nelson Riddle. This CD is a fine example of what the French strain of EZ does best - evoke mental paintings that literally transport you to serene landscapes. It is also music to fall in love to, walking the avenues of Paris, or simply enjoying a quiet special moment with your loved one on the settee. Sadly, Monsieur Caravelli is no longer actively recording but these are a 'chocolate box' of his best. '13 Jours en France' is all accordion with strings. 'My Own True Love' takes you away from 'Gone with the Wind' and adapts it to the cool pace of a Mediterranean cruise in the sunset. Even Roberta Flack's classic 'Killing Me Softly..'gets a sensitive lounge treatment. Of course 'Theme from Love Story' is a classic French love pastiche rendered emotionally with poignant piano & strings. Finally Caravelli's own contribution to Sinatra's career - Let Me Try Again - is itself a rousing orchestral tribute to romance second time around! Highly recommended CD anthology."
