CD ReviewsMemorable lyrics and melodic tunes 02/20/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Cane 141 are producing the best music in Ireland at present. While unique, it has traces of Field Mice (though overlaid with elaborate layering) and Belle and Sebastian. But there's also a muted techno undercurrent. Virtually all the songs have subtle hooks. "Summerlong" is impossible to evict from memory. "Easter in West" glides through an elaborate musical journey. The songs can stand independently but it carries an extra charge when listened to in full. It's their first album but they can hardly get much better than this.Martin C"
