This mutant album fuses the cool bossa nova stylings of Henning Fritzenwalder with the indie ambient music walls of Chessie. The cold-hot bossa nova style is so latin, but with German lyrics delivered in the silvery crisp way by Fritzenwalder the musical convention take a weird dream-like turn. The dream-like quality is heightened by Chessie's melodic ambient noise-like instrumental backings. There's strings, melody, rhythm and all the elements of normal bossa nova - but somehow it's gone down the rabbit hole and ended up totally new. It's weird - and yet somehow totally normal. To a casual listener - or heard in the background it sounds just like regular bossa nova. Turn it up and it all sounds very unexpected. Very nicely done. Totally strange! Recommended."
