CD Reviews

Another good thing about living in Mass
Wheelchair Assassin | The Great Concavity | 06/17/2001
(4 out of 5 stars)

"With this album, C60 have created a sound that is at once viceral, soulful, tuneful, and at times even funky. Catchy guitar riffs, insistent drumming, and the occasional solo combine for music that allows the listener to rock out or just mellow out. Keith Smith's vocals are forceful, but he has an impressive singing ability as well. His versatility is displayed throughout the album, from the guttural near-scream of "Crazy" to the rapid-fire delivery of "Never" to the big choruses of "Your Way" and "Days." The lyrics on the album are often intelligent as well, a far cry from the anger and whining that you find on much of today's heavy rock. "Evil Wears a three piece suit" from "Crazy" is my favorite example of the intelligent songwriting that can be found from this album. On the whole, this is a highly innovative effort that features some outstanding vocal and musical work. In an era where heavy music is everywhere, C60 manage to distinguish themselves with their thoughtful and nuanced approach. C60 can rock out when they want to, but they make sure to keep things varied as well."
Return To Rock
Kyle Wolff | Boston, MA | 09/20/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Like most people, I was drawn to this album by the first cut Crazy. I decided to buy the album based on the merits of that one song and was pleasantly surprised by the strength of the album. Strong vocals, straight-ahead lyrics and catchy guitar riffs make this album a must have for anyone craving a solid rock album. You won't be disappointed."
