"Hate. Sludge. Shriek. Repeat. The South OWNS. Alternative Tentacles has done sludge-riff loving freaks a great service by compiling out of print material by this legendary band...anyone familiar with the works of EYEHATEGOD, GRIEF or "Through Silver in Blood" by NEUROSIS should not be without this. After scaring the hell out of anyone within earshot throughout the early 90's, Buzzov-en combusted and joined the ranks of bands seen by few, yet years later revered by many (myself included). My first taste of these guys was 11 years ago when Roadrunner records released SORE-it made my head bang and my skin crawl-this collection also achieves this, added with a sense of loss for what I never got to see. On a side note, allow me to add that I hate myself for leaving a show before Grief took the stage...oh, to be young and foolish...don't make the same mistakes, get this NOW, and check out WEEDEATER when they come to town. The riff has spoken, praise the riff."

"buzzov en are an amazing band. heavy as hell and the lyrics hit you right in the gut. the only problem is most of there stuff is out of print because of record company bull sh*t. making it wicked hard if not impossible to find there music and when u do its usually pretty expensive(although well worth your $).but finally someone did the right thing and alternitive tenticles released a compilation of the infamous buzzov en. has music from several different albums and a lot of it i havnt heard so i was fu*kin physched.for new fans or old time listeners who cant get there hands on the majority of buzzov en releases. this is a must have. you cant call yourself a fan of southern metal and not own this. for fans of weedeater,eyehategod,down soilent green, etc etc buy this fu**in cd!! you wont regret it"
