"I am writing this review while listening to the cd.
Ocal , in Orient Secret , had interpreted again some of the Ottoman religious music classics .In this album you can't find the fast pace of other Ocal albums but that is very normal because the tracks in this cd are mostly sacred and secular Ottoman music from the 16.th 17.th and 18.th century. When we listen to the tracks Ocal takes us back to the Ottoman times again.
Selim Guler plays the kamanche(kemence) and Goksel Baktagir plays the kanun.Burhan Ocal plays the darbuka and bendir. All the vocals are by Burhan Ocal.
This album is released by a French recording company; L'empreinte digitale.
This album is one of the least known albums of Ocal. You can't find tracks in the gypsy or folk style in this album. They are almost all religious songs.Only the last track Sehnaz Longa is a very famous folk tune in Turkey. I would recommend this album strongly who like Ottoman classical music..."
