Synopsis

Album Description
In the fall of '98 fabled engineer/producer Jack Endino called Jamie Lane, of Bundle of Hiss. Jack offered to remix and remaster the previously unreleased Bundle of Hiss tapes if they were still available. Jamie contacted Kurt Danielson and Dan Peters; the three conducted intensive searches, coming up empty-handed. Then, Dan hit pay dirt. The BOH tapes had found their way into Dan's basement; Dan didn't know that until he stumbled onto them, much to BOH's collective delight, while shot gunning an icy cold 32 ounce can of malt liquor. This 15 song Bundle of Hiss CD represents the fruits of Jack Endino's salvage operations: the songs are fat, heavy, crunchy, clean, and true.

CD Reviews

Early Joy Division (Warsaw) w/King Crimson & Soundgarden
N.B. | New York, NY USA | 12/19/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"If you're hip to the heavy, ominous shard-guitar vibes of early Joy Division/Warsaw, that's the primary influence here, with some early King Crimson prog action and definitely the sweaty/sexy/etc. Soundgarden thing (I coulda sworn the first SG single was BoH w when I first heard it). This was the Seattle band that many people circa '86 swore would win the grunge lottery, and while the material on the CD isn't quite the masterpiece my memory assured me it would be, songs like "White," "Drown," "Ash Wednesday," and most of the others haven't lost their power (and surprisingly, I haven't forgotten them in all these years). Very exciting that this item is available."
