Buell Kazee had a wonderful voice and he could make a banjo ring but this recording is aimed more at the musical historian than the lover of old-time country music: Buell talks and talks and talks but plays very little and much of the playing is in mere snatches. This disc consists of interviews that would've made good program notes but instead they cheat you of the pleasure of listening to a real master."
