This CD features legendary Cape Breton fiddler Buddy MacMaster, accompanied by John Morris Rankin (of The Rankin Family Band) on piano. The tunes are largely Cape Breton step-dance pieces, in addition to a few slow airs and marches. The music is played using ancient bowing techniques, as well as the early style of embellishments. This recording was made under excellent studio conditions, and recorded directly "off the floor" for added excitement.
