Pushing boundaries in Christian POP
Daniel Addington | Chicago, IL USA | 06/12/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is on of the best Christian pop albums I've ever heard! Unlike many other artists, Duncan approaches the genre w/ style and creativity. Not feeling that each song must have an overt "Christian" message, Duncan writes and sings honestly. Some of these songs will send chills up your spine, while others will actually make you laugh out loud. Duncan is well known for the humor he often displays in his music, and on this album it is honestly, comfortably, and deeply integrated into the material. The production on this album deserves a mention. While Duncan's voice is almost like a special effect itself -- an incredible range and variety of tonalities is always in evidence on any album -- he experements with interesting vocal processing effects and unusual double-tracking on this album, giving the whole CD a strange, fresh, and unusual texture. Duncan keeps you guessing on this album, and the creative, humorous, and positive spirit in evidence here is reason to GET this NOW!"

"I first was introduced to Bryan's work back in the 1970's through Sweet Comfort Band. I am impressed that his music stays so fresh. At times it is very upbeat and is always worshipful. Bryan's music is something I always turn on for my friends to listen to. They have never been disappointed. I especially like "Caribean Dream". It is different and humorous!"
