CD Reviews

Strawberry Letter 23 was ahead of it's time! Great!!!
10/11/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"You like rock, soul, anything then you will love this song! Strawberry Letter 23 by Brothers Johnson will someday be recognized has the deepest, soul stirring, magical, fun, hippest, ahead of its time song in history. Just listen to it once and you will agree. It begins as simple as bring out the inner child innocence and fun then without warning takes you into a stellar star voyage and keeps going until your whole being is reborn into happyness of a sense of new love and aquaris generation. If you feel down before you play this song you will be refreshed and renewed by the time the song is over. I can't explain the power of this melody but just look into the eyes of anyone while it's playing it's almost like some kind of feel good drug. Try it you will like it. If you don't your probably dead!"

I Bought It For Two Songs

"I used to hear 'Strawberry Letter 23' and 'Stomp' on the radio sporatically throughout my life. Yet, every time I heard them, I was transported to some place incredible. They have to be two of the best songs ever recorded. I could never figure out who sang them or where to get them. Finally, a friend of mine who lived through the seventies (as they were supposed to be lived through) told me who about Brothers Johnson. I bought the C.D., heard my two favorite songs, and smiled the day away. It really is worth buying just for those two songs."
