CD Reviews

One Of My Favorites!

"If you're interested in buying one of the Born To Make You Happy CDs, then this is the one! The tracks on this CD include... 1) Born To Make You Happy 2) Born To Make You Happy (bonus remix) 3) (You Drive Me) Crazy - Jazzy Jim's HipHop Mix 4) Baby One More Time answering machine message The other Born To Make You Happy CDs either have the first two or first three tracks of this CD. The remix of Born To Make You Happy is not like a remix. To me, it's like a whole different version of the song; they brought Born To Make You Happy to a whole new level with this "remix". The remix is the most awesome remix I've ever heard! Jazzy Jim's HipHop Mix of Crazy is also a great remix. It's actually a remix of "(You Drive Me) Crazy (the stop remix!)" but besides the point, it's a great song! It's a little longer than the other Crazy remixes because it starts off with the chorus of the song and then it's all regular and in order after that. This is a definite 'must have' for any Britney fan! It's one of my favorite Britney CDs and I own them all. By the way, the cover of the CD rocks!"

"I personally think this is Britney's best single. "Born to Make You Happy" is one of my favorite songs off of her debut album "...Baby One More Time". Here is my review of the tracks on the single.1. Born To Make You Happy (Radio Edit) - Very nice vocal work on this song. Not much different from the album version, except for the fact it is shorter.2. Born To Make You Happy (Bonus Remix) - This is an excellent, excellent remix. It was actually resung with a slightly different tune and a pretty guitar background. 3. (You Drive Me) Crazy (Jazzy Jim's Hip-Hop Mix) - This is a funky remix that you would hear playing at a party. It is actually a remix of the Stop Remix, and includes the "STOP" in the middle of the song. 4. Baby One More Time (Answering Machine Message) - In my personal opinion, this is a little bit stupid, but if you're a die-hard fan I guess it's great."
Born To Make You Happy - a lovely ballad with great lyrics!

"1999 was quite a year for Britney Spears. Her debut album had now sold 20 million copies worldwide (13 million in America alone!) and spawned 3 massive worldwide No.1 singles in the form of Baby One More Time, Sometimes and (You Drive Me) Crazy. She also cleaned up at the MTV Europe Video Music Awards in November 1999 after winning all 4 awards for which she was nominated - not mention giving a stunning performance in a slinky black catsuit. Britney celebrated the new millenium by releasing the fourth and final single from her debut album - the song was Born To Make You Happy and became Britney's second UK No.1 single, a brilliant way to close a classic album.Born To Make You Happy begins with a mid-tempo bassline with a beautiful and moody beat. Britney begins singing the first verse with the lyrics, "I'm sitting her alone up in my room and thinking 'bout the times that we've been through," it's evident it's one of Britney's greatest lyrical compositions to date. The chorus has a very worldly feel to it and Britney pours all her emotion into it - you can tell by the way she hits some of those notes. I think Britney's voice sounds best on her ballads - it isn't altered or changed in any way. It's just Britney's raw and exposed vocals accompanied by the beauty of the song. Born To Make You Happy only received a European release, not a US one. Amercia got From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart, an equally beautiful ballad from Britney's debut album. The video to Born To Make You Happy is very good, but probably the worst from all the ones from her debut album. It begins with Britney sat on some steps in a modern construction with a blue background wearing a sexy silver outfit. There's something about this look that suits Britney - it's very futuristic. I think it's that dark make-up! In other scenes, Britney dances around on a brown platform in a PVC red top and a split black dress with her dancers. The reason I rated this CD 5 stars is not because of the song itself - there's a brilliant remix of (You Drive Me) Crazy and a sort of accoustic version of Born To Make You Happy that makes this essential for Britney fans everywhere - plus the CD cover's good to look at! Buy it now from Amazon!"
