CD Reviews

Their third - again top quality !
Kees van der Hoeven | Eindhoven, Netherlands | 09/14/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Bright Blue Gorilla is Michael Glover and Robyn Rosenkrantz from Los Angeles. Multi intrumentalists and gifted songwriters, amazing audiences in small clubs all over the world. This third cd again contains some beautiful songs, "Hold Me", "Don't Walk Away" and the humorous contributions of Michael "Sid & Mary Ann" and "Juliet's Asleep".
All songs have good lyrics, excellent performance and -most important to me- catchy melodies. With a voice like Robyn's they get the perfect treat!
Without a doubt "Feel The Movement" is the best track. This song even made it to the soundtrack of Dawson's Creek. This nearly gave BBG a break-through... but luckily they seem to have escaped and they still tour and sing in the intimacy and obscurity of small clubs and coffee-houses, where they're at their best!"
5 Bananas for Bright Blue Gorilla

"I heard Bright Blue Gorilla live last night and all I can say is...wow...groovy...cool. Among other songs they did Greed, a song about...greed with David Bowie's song Fame as an ancestor and The Ballad of Sid and Mary Ann, a Mommas and Poppas send-up about a busted vegetarian pot head. And my wife and I bought the disc. Very good, intelligent, funny, sensitive pop. And they wear funny clothes. I'd follow 'em up any tall building in LA to hear them play. Can't wait for them to return from Europe so we can hear them live again. Get Mantra For The American Jungle and sing along."
