Synopsis

Album Description
Bassist Brian McCree's first album as a leader after decades of providing rock-solid support for the best jazz players in Boston, New York, and Hawaii. Features the incredible bass voice of Ron Murphy, a New England legend who has seldom appeared on recordings. This is a real old-fashioned working jazz group swinging together on a set of mostly original tunes. Saxophonist Salim Washington may be recognized from his work with Frank Lacy, Carl Grubbs, James Jabbo Ware, and Ahmed Abdullah.

CD Reviews

A blessing!
Emro-san | Kansas City, MO | 06/07/2009

"As the mother of 2, it is difficult to find ways to relax! Whenever I play this CD there is an immediate release of all the stress built up from the day. Listening to the talents of Mr. Mcree and his band is a wonderful way to rediscover the beauty of Jazz and musicianship. I favor Nature Boy, Cookie, and Soliloquy, but more often than not, enjoy the entire CD start to finish! No matter my mood when the CD starts, by the end I am refreshed and smiling!"

"The CD is a joy to listen to. We loved the vocal work, and the oboe contributions. The CD added much to our drive along the west coast of

the Big Island of Hawaii looking for whales."

"this album makes me truly smile !!!

journeymen playing in modern voicings/shadings in a tradition that is rock solid.

the quality of the recording is crystal clear (the bass is great).

the album reminds me of great live music i heard for years in los angeles.

listening to this music is very enjoyable and seems to even be lowering my high blood pressure !!!"
