CD ReviewsNot to be missed 06/20/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "One need not be strictly a fan of Brazilian music or of jazz to enjoy this record. Vocalist, Vera Mara fluctuates between musical moods, on each track, from the playful and Brazilian traditional "Tico-Tico no Fuba" to the mellow "Julia," which I thought was unique and attractive. The vocals seemed so complimentary to the instruments in away that made me wonder whether there are two human voices or two instrumental voices. Cidinho Teixeira, on piano & accordion, and Mauro Refosco - percussion, are awesome. The burning chops of Paul Meyer's acoustic nylon string guitar melodically matches Vera's voice and the other players like one voice. This sound is a highlight of cultures not only music--what a sweet sound!"
