CD Reviews

Maybe you should run to buy this album

"This album is hard hitting from start to finish. The pulsing beginning inclines the listener to move their head and tap their foot. Half way through the CD you catch yourself jumping around your room... you've become an air guitar pro or perfected the art of smashing your imaginary sticks on drums that don't exist. Brand New Disaster presents a refreshing addition to the music scene. `Maybe We Should Run,' their debut album, stands apart from other groups in this genre by sharing a softer side on the track `Between Him and Me.' This high energy album is not for sissies. Its tracks are not so hard as to become annoying, but insanely appropriate for those who love to rock out in intimate basement and bar shows (this band is even more incredible live!!). Much of today's popular music lacks sounds that please those with the taste for high quality, superior talent groups. BND flawlessly surpasses this expectation, blowing listeners out of the water with smooth vocals, intense drums, and well-executed guitar riffs. The story played out through the tracks of this album takes you on an emotional ride up through the arresting and eerie `Pull The Trigger Like You Mean It.' Buy this album. Catch this band on tour. You won't be disappointed with the rarity of a CD on which every track is playable. Prepare to leave your finger off the "next track" button."
I like this better than "The Used"'s Stuff.

"The music of the band, "The Used" comes to mind when I hear this. It's that same type of Emo Punk with a more raw edge.

The one thing that I disliked about "The Used" was when the one singer begins screaming in the background. His screaming sounds "cry-baby-like" and it really steals the show and ruins the song. Now with BND, there is some of that same type of screaming but it does not dominate. It is more in the background, also there does not seem to be as much. I am glad for this because both this band and "The Used" have some great sounding songs with great melodic arrangements but it is that screaming that took away from "The Used"'s material.

I know there is another band - I think - similiar to BND and TU but I cannot think of it's name right now."
