Synopsis

Album Description
2008 digitally remastered two-fer from the former Steve Miller Band member and successful solo artist containing his third and fourth solo albums. When Boz finally achieved the commercial success he so deserved in the latter half of the '70s, his musical approach had softened quite a bit since his heady days of mixing Blues, R&B and Rock. These two early albums drive Boz home with an edgier sound that might frighten fans of 'Lido Shuffle' but is ultimately far more rewarding. Moments was released in 1971, followed later that same year by Boz Scaggs & Band. BGO.

"Finally, "Moments"and "Boz Scaggs and Band" are available at a reasonable, actually fantastic, price. Both albums on one CD. BGO does a great job on their reissues. Great 12 page booklet with lots of information on Boz's history and individual tracks. Sound quality is very good, remastered in London in 2008. In comparing the tracks available on the remastered My Time anthology with this CD I find no difference in quality. (I have not heard the Japanese remastered versions.)

As far as the songs, it's Boz!, what more could you want. I have followed Boz since the Steve Miller Band days and saw him often at the Fillmore back in the day.

These albums are great, with more of a bluesy, gritty edge on some songs, and then of course great ballads as only Boz can do them. I purchased the LPs when they were originally released and they are still among my favorites. The musicians are fantastic, with a great brass section. I had forgotten how great a bass player David Brown is.

You can't go wrong with this CD."

"The guitar playing of Boz makes it! Boz without too much heavy backgrounds and always a nice guitar note. This is valuable addition to anyone's Boz collection. Plenty to like, lots of music and soul for the money."
