Tenor saxophone hooks, gutsy vocals, and expertly chopped drums command attention throughout the recording, perhaps giving the listener images of DJ Shadow mashing up records by Morphine and David Bowie. Much like his '06 debut Pleasure, front man Ragel spins and tweaks beats by some of Portland's nastiest drummers to create the rhythmic backbone of the album.
