Loudhouse Records presents its latest CD project - the soundtrack from Baghdad Texas, the soon-to-be-released feature film from Loudhouse Productions, with music composed by Booka Michel. Booka is a well known professional musician and producer. Since 2001 he has produced award-winning albums, with Songs and Albums of the Year in Canada, Australia, Europe and the U.S. in the Blues, Folk, World Music and Americana categories. He has performed with Butch Hancock, Doug Sahm, David Amram, Flaco Jimenez, Hoyt Axton, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, Odetta, Pete Seeger, Peter Yarrow, Don Walser, Arthur Brown and Townes Van Zandt. For the soundtrack recording, Booka used longtime Austin musicians John Reed (Doug Sahm), Cindy Cashdollar (Bob Dylan, Van Morrison), Glen Fukunaga (Joe Ely), Ray Benson (Asleep at the Wheel), Ralph White (Bad Livers) and Zhenya Rock (Red Elvises). He composed the music based on three genres - Latin, Americana and Middle Eastern - inspired by the film's main characters. The Producers of Baghdad Texas, Edythe Michel and Booka Michel, have produced several movies, including Native New Yorker, which won Gold Medals of Excellence in both the Audience and Jury selection categories at Park City, and Best Short Documentary at Tribeca in 2006.
