Ironbound Blues is the 2007 release from the Booglerizers. High quality production values have not compromised the intimacy found in their live performances. IronBound Blues incudes self-penned and classic covers such as Sweet Sue that they have been perfecting live for a number of years. The Booglerizers mix fingerstyle guitar with mandolin and arch-top slide, leaving room for some tube-driven harmonica and sweet old time clarinet. Their vocalists have harmonized, crooned and growled together for over a quarter of a century. Time is kept with a brushed snare, washboard or spoons. At the bottom of the sound is the tuba, which can be regal or downright flatulent. Whether they play rural blues, ballards, ragtime, jug-band, New Orleans style or R&B, it all has a funky, barrel-house feel. Artists covered by the band range from Memphis Minnie, to Etta James, and Robert Johnson, to Ry Cooder.
