CD Reviews

Great entertainment, energy and sound!

"Boogiehawg's Something So Strange is one of the best things to come out of our Nation's Capital. Great lyrics, along with a great groove and vibe. Show Me is a great, catchy little love song (great trumpet solo) but the one that really gets me going is the title track with its "shake, shake, shake it down to the ground...". Another great tune is Freedom - it really grabs you and makes you wanna sing! Great vocals from the lead singer and bass player, which along with the drums and horns are spectacular! The guitar sometimes overpowers but is very good nonetheless. Buy the CD (which includes, what I think are the best tracks - 39, 40 and 41), but make sure you check them out live - the show is a must see for sure!"

"In a city such as our nation's capitol, with so many drab, suited professionals going about their easy-listening ways, it is a pleasant surprise to find such a harbinger of funk amid the hallowed walls and halls. Boogiehawg brings an eclectic energy to the music scene, combining the best vibes of the past three decades into a sound that refuses to let you stay in your seat. This album is a must for anyone who likes to get down."
