CD Reviews

Bonnie, As Always, Is Wonderful
corginut | San Carlos, CA USA | 03/02/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Like the other reviewers, I lived near Chicago in the early 70's and had the privilege of hearing Bonnie, Steve Goodman and John Prine on several occasions. This album is Bonnie at her best. Her voice is distinct and beautiful. I, too, have wondered about her over the years and wanted to replace my worn LPs. This CD is a first but, hopefully, not the last of her music to make it to this format. If you've heard her before you won't be disappointed and if you haven't heard her, it's time you did. Let's all hope she makes more music for all of us to enjoy soon."
A beautiful voice which leaves the listener wanting more. | 07/17/1999

"Bonnie still has that beautiful voice she had when she first hit the folk scene in the late 60's. I heard her again at the Old Town School of Folk Music Reunion concert in 9/98. I left the concert wanting more. We have missed her singing. Please put some of the old records on cd's. I always felt that Bonnie was an equal to or better than Joan Baez."
Okay, but not as strong as her older stuff

"This album's okay, but doesn't have the rhythm and bite of her 1970s work, and neither the tunes nor the lyrics haunt you. I played it once, yawned, ignored it for months, and then gave it away.If you like other recent work of hers, I assume you'll like this one, but us older fans just aren't catching fire."
