CD ReviewsCool groove tunes. Reminds me of Rusted Root. MariaSmiles "me" | 04/06/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "INFLUENCES: Rusted Root, Grateful Dead, Phish, moe., MMW, Widespread Panic, YMSB, The Disco Biscuits, etc. so forth, and on and on and on.
HIGH: Great music to jam to. Lighthearted, goodtime tunes. LOW: To those who don't care for improvisational music, the tracks may sound alike. MUSICALITY: Very good. Fantastic construction of varying instrumental elements. With seven members in a group, many would find it difficult to coordinate everyone into a cohesive sound. BoSu does it wonderfully. LYRICALITY: Fun and groovadelic. FAVORITE TRACK: Track 6 - Funkalicious Mountain Jelly WOULD MAKE A GREAT OPENING ACT FOR: Wow, too many to list; but at least those listed in the influences section above. REVIEW: For those who love the jam/improv scene, BoSu will be sure to please. This seven-member ensemble weaves together intricate instrumentals and paints them with a kaleidoscopic vocal presence. CD aside, these guys must be a blast to see live. Besides the influences listed, I hear an almost Jimmy Buffet-esque quality in these tunes. They hail from Southern New Jersey, and have previously opened shows for Ziggy Marley, String Cheese Incident, and the Other Ones [the remaining members of The Grateful Dead] on the Further tour. BoSu have developed a swell of loyal fans and continue to pack venues whereever they go. I highly recommend checking them out. WOULD I BUY THIS? Hell yeah. ~Mike Brennan, as posted in Origivation, June 2003" |
