"Leatherbarrow has played with the best, a behind the scenes drummer who blends the drive of Jack deJohnette with the sophistication of Shelly Mann. You find his name on lots of cd's, but this is his first, and he shows his wares as a drummer and composer with a variety of magical tunes. The tunes range from soulful to hard-driving, spirited to laid back. This has become one of my favorite easy-to-listen-to jazz albums and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes that sophisticated West Coast jazz sound. This could become a classic."
