CD Reviews"Wonderful stuff!" Gary Smith | England | 10/16/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Well I had a look at some of the other reviews, and they have basically said it all already. This CD is a wonderful surprise. I had listened to the (very short) sound files on the band's site, and whereas it was enough to give me a good impression of what the CD was like, it in no way prepared me for what I was to hear when I got the chance to listen to the complete CD. There are so many different moods on it but it's like a journey. You start with "Bureenstone Sunrise" which sets the mood perfectly.It's a moody Irish sounding piece and then you have blues, rock, celtic, well basically everything bar the kitchen sink, but it's all mixed together so well that it sounds really refreshing and ....well, wonderful. I think by now it's hard for me to pick out any favourites as I love the complete CD. I liked what the last person wrote "stop reading and go buy it". That's very good advice." The music is so serene at times that i have to stop everything I'm doing and just listen to it. My favourite tracks are Burenstone Sunrise, The Emigrant, Nobody's Hero, Adam & Eve and Let it go. I know these are all the slow songs....but I just love slow songs!! The Irish whistle is such a meloncholic sound that it just pierces your heart. I'm so happy to have discovered all this wonderful new music through the dance show Riverdance(and it's been around for centuries!!). Please do yourself a favour and get this CD as fast as you can. He can make me cry with his pipe playing. I bought the Peace Within CD because he was on it. At first I thought it was a bit too rocky but after a couple of listens I started to realise that it was wonderful music. It is not like Davy's solo CDs but then again it is! The Emigrant is typical Davy, slow and mournful, and it was writeen for another musician called Rory Gallagher. I had never heard of him but thought if Davy can write muisc like this for him he must be something special. I searched the web for groups about him and imagine my surprise to find one run by BMC, the singer on this CD! It's called the G-man@eGroups. I was so excited. That is more rock music but I bought a CD from Rory Gallagher also and I'm getting to like it more all the time. So the Peace Within opened up new doors for me and for that I will be always grateful to Davy and now also BMC! Thank you both for this beautiful, wonderful music. Patty"
