(5 out of 5 stars)

"I bought this EP back in 2005 when I saw the Blue Scholars open for Zion I in Minneapolis. They performed almost all the songs on this EP live. Out of the approximately 50 hip-hop shows I've seen, this has always been one of the most memorable. The soul they displayed live gave me straight goose bumps. Along with their self-titled debut, this EP was the soundtrack to my summer.

Geologic holds down the rhymes and Sabzi provides the soundscape. Geologic is what's missing from hip-hop today. His song writing is a breath of fresh air, and brings a revolutionary vibe that brings forth important and thought provoking subject matter. Sabzi is a tremendous producer. I buy everything he touches, and at this point in his career, he holds it down with consistently on par with Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Geologic provides skills that brings these guys to the forefront of some of the best duo's to grace the game. The boiling chemistry between the two is astounding.

There hasn't been an EP of this caliber since Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth's debut EP. I have literally listened to it 20+ times. It nearly reaches album length at 36 minutes in length, and the quality is high throughout - no mediocre material - no skippable tracks. With that said, my favorite cuts are "Southside Revival" & "Proletariat Blues". Excellent storytelling and introspective lyrics that speak to me loud and clear.

If you are into groups such as Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Gang Starr, or anything in the same vein, you should definitely check out this unstoppable duo. They have created a major buzz in the underground since their inception. Now signed to Ruckus for their 2nd full-length release, this duo will only rise in the game. Highly recommended!"
