Wrenching blues harpist blows from the gut
sue bee | 07/13/1998
(4 out of 5 stars)

"this guy has the coooolest ten-hole harp tone and style. no rustic back porch acoustics here, but a blazing electric sound that slides, runs, and buzzes like a guitar. he's got that gravel-filled throat you want in a blues singer, and a backup band of young rockin' white blues-student kind of fellows. the music gets heavier as the cd plays on, and by track three or so the band is already thumpin' like cream or zeppelin, only with harp in the driver's seat instead of guitar. i don't know if mr morris is really blind or really from mississippi, but he can blow gut-wrenching harp."
The real stuff in the best tradition of the blues

"This artist is blind, actually twice blind, and he has lived the blues. His experiences show in his music which follows the best tradition of roots blues. Wish there were more CDs to buy!"
A living Legend with heart and soul with Phenominal Blues.

"Mississippi Morris was phenominal with his blues playing, the harmonica and the guitar and the way he told his stories of the old days. He shared his history and and sang from his heart and soul. Later I was blessed he went with me to The Blue Crickett of West Palm Beach and put his name on the wall and played 5 songs. Had signed all our CD's we had got from him. What a inspiration he gave to me being a harmonica player myself. His CD From Bad to Worse is very good and I'll enjoy listening to his music for a very long time to come and share with all my friend on this living legend."
