CD Reviews

Changing with the Times
Christopher J. Becker | Fargo, ND United States | 12/03/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I was in anticipation of this album for a long time. The Blenders are my all-time favorite group and to anyone who has seen them live, you know this album showcases almost everything they can do. While yes, it is not entirely Acapella it still shows the harmonies and range we have come to expect from the Blenders and anyone who can listen to People get Ready and not get chills must be dead from the neck up."
They are selling out!
Cory J Klein | Bloomington, MN USA | 12/29/2000
(1 out of 5 stars)

"It appears that in the light of all the boy bands out there making gross amounts of money, that the blenders finally sold out. It was bound to happen. Just like the Nylons before them, they have produced a so called "pop" album that seems to take roots from groups such as the Back Street Boys. If you are looking for an acapella album you would be better getting their older albums. If you are looking for typically "boy-pop", i supose you'd like this album. The harmonies may be nice but the lyrics are a little lackluster, i.e. "McDonalds Girl"?"
No hype, just pure vocal talent!
Mel Barclay | Ann Arbor, Michigan | 05/29/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Sure, the Backstreet Boys have some good tunes. 'N Sync seems to try, but they rank amongst the weakest voices in pop music (the lead's voice is so thin and tenuous!). Finally, here's a vocal group that doesn't exude pseudo-street cred or rely on a billion-dollar hype machine. If you're a fan of pop music, vocal music, or just GREAT music in general, you MUST give this CD a spin! Show the industry that hype doesn't always win out over quality!"
