(5 out of 5 stars)

"I picked up this album upon the glowing recommendation from my favourite record store owner. I was looking for something new, something a little left-centre and unique. And oh boy, did I get it.

This is my first foray into the music of Black Cab (singer and producer Andrew Coates and guitarist James Lee) and it's proving to be an enjoyable one.

I dont want to begin to try categorizing this album into any genre, but suffice to say if you're a fan of early Interpol, Depeche Mode or maybe even early Presets records, then this record will definitely float your boat. Lee's guitars fuzz and the drums pulse, and the ambient noises swirl like a dark cloud around Coates murmuring vocals.

Thus far, it's certainly been a worthwhile ride in the black cab."
