"I also bought this for Hem, but found myself singing The Autumn Defense's melancholy "Bluebirds Fall" all hours of the day for weeks. While all the songs are good, this is the one that really stands out for me, its melody and sound just mesmerizing. It has that laid-back early 70s L.A. country-rock sound with late 60s Beach Boys; even a bit of Nicks/Buckingham era Mac. With all that said, I often think of The High Llamas - if they were more mellow and warmer. As far as I know some of these tracks aren't available anywhere else, so suggest picking this one up!"
Worth it for the Hem tracks

"I bought this CD for the Hem tracks, particularly St. Charlene, which is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It gives me chills every time I listen to it. Half Acre and Pacific Street are also both quite good. I'd never heard of Autumn Defense before finding this CD; their tracks are OK but the Hem songs are the stars of the disc."
