A Brooklyn native, in his early teens he started studying accordion with the late Sean McGlynn from Galway. He won the All-Ireland Senior title in 1986. He formed and played with two legendary trios: Washington DC's Irish Tradition and the internationally acclaimed Trian. He is known on both sides of the Atlantic as an indefatigable session player, teacher and promulgator of the music. The CD ends in great form with a set of reels played with John Doyle and Liz Carroll. John Doyle's vibe is very much up front on some of the tunes but that's great because there is a good mix and a good bit of music on this collection. I am sure that anyone who like trad Irish music will LOVE this CD."
