CD Reviews

Excellent Album

"Before the gorgeous Bibi Gaytan recorded this her fist album as a solo artist, she had a big hit with the song "Tan Solo Una Mujer" from her days with the musical group Munecos De Papel. Another song from the same album, was "Fijate En Mi" which I love, it sounds way better live that in the cd, but nonetheless is a great song. Other songs that I love of Bibi are "Olvidame" and "El Primer Adios" from the Baila Conmigo Soap Opera Soundtrack. Thanks to her sucess with these songs and her acting, she recorded her first album containing the song that would become her trademark "Mucha Mujer Para Ti", while it is a very good song, my favorites from this album are "Y Se Marcha Diciendo Perdon" a great ballad, and "Rock Cafe" a great 50's style rock 'n' roll song. Most people seem to only remember the Mucha Mujer Para Ti song, probably cause it was catchy, but all of her other songs were equally good."
Overlooked debut

"In the early to mid 90s, Bibi Gaytán was the #1 sex bomb in all of Mexico. Why oh why did she go away? In part to start a family w/ ex-Timbiriche Eduardo Capetillo. Without a doubt, Bibi is a beauty. A knockout, etc. Unfortunately for her this has and will always overshadow her music. It's a shame really because she churned out some great pop songs on this, her 1992 debut. One of the better vocalists to come out of Timbiriche (much better than the tone-deaf Paulina Rubio and Thalía), Bibi held her own back in the day. Vocally, the perfect comparison would have to be a weaker Marisela. Lovely ballads like "Y se marcha diciendo perdón", "No me importa", "Desearía" and the drag queen favorite "Mucha mujer para ti" (and her signature song) are just as great as they were back in 1992. My favorite though has to be the über sexy "Brujo de amor". Now there is nothing groundbreaking here, just some lovely singing from a very lovely girl. Also worth checking out is her grupera/ballad sophmore effort "Manzana Verde" in which Bibi really shines. If someone was smart they would re-release this disc as it goes for big bucks on ebay."
BIBI's only hit

"Bibi is a gorgeous girl. That's her best attribute. She won't be remembered like one of the best singers, but this pop record was good for the 90's.

If you haven't heard it, please don't expect a great vocalist, but fine pop music. The most remarkable titles of this cd are "Y se marcha perdiendo perdon", "Deseria", "No me importa" and "Mucha mujer para ti""
