Her voice is unbelievably rich and expressive, and shines in this collection of Celtic songs and ballads, with excellent accompaniment from members of The Poor Clares and others." She is able to emote as well as to sing, and it's a lucky listener indeed who chooses this CD. Betsy is one of those singers who sounds just as good live as she does recorded, and she also shines with the very gifted Poor Clares. I've been watching her for years at O'Flaherty's in New Orleans and have to say that this CD is an excellent representation of her repertoire, previous recordings notwithstanding. I only wish she had included the heartbreaking "Mary Parker's Lament.""
