CD Reviews

Bethzaida is staggering.
odihhnavast | Massachusetts, USA | 07/02/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Bethzaida is absolutely amazing. They are possibly my favorite band. The vocals are sound they were dragged through frozen wastes and washed in sand and are without compare, easily the best scratchy vocals i've ever heard in metal.

the flute is ingeniously intergrated, its never a toy, its always part of the music and enhances the song.

The guitar work is raw and intimate, heavy and with just the right amount of repitition on its building way.

every song is like a journey through darkest night in the abyss.

it makes me feel whole.

*sigh*"
Death Metal + Flute

"Great album. There's something about this band. The guitars are great and the flute brings a special new sound to it. It took some time for me to get used to the singing, but when you get used to it, it's good. Whatever you want to call this, it's something new and is just about to break out. Get ready, 'coz here comes Bethzaida."
Extreme folk, doom, death metal

"I think that's all the genres this band covers. I was very impressed with their first cd "9 worlds&quo. If you like your metal with a sense of urgency, passion, and despair, with a touch of folk then Bethzaida may be your cup of tea. I say folk because Bethzaida incorporate the flute within their music. I say doom because sometimes (not too often) the music is brooding and slow(not Evoken slow). I say death because of the extreme grim vocals. The resulting blend is intense and highly addictive. An obscure gem within this extreme genre. Check it out!!"
