Banned in Argentina!

"Bersuit Vergarabat is a band that has been around for a while in Argentina, but it wasn't until the magical producers Gustavo Santaolalla and Anibal Kerpel got involved that this band was able to breakthrough. Thank God they did. This album Libertinaje is full of a variety of music. While most people will think they are a hard rock band most will be surprised (but pleasantly) to know that this band offers much more. They are a great band to dance to and protest to social injustices. The first single of this album "SR. COBRANZA" had them banned from all media in Argentina by the government. This hard rocking and explicit song clearly criticizes the government, going as far as denouncing Carlos Menem (the president) as a drug trafficker. However most of the album is full of songs heavily influenced with Cumbia, Salsa, and other world beats. This is a band that offers people who like World Music and Rock a huge plate of fun and sound. This is very good fusion and even better live. They tend to all be dressed in pajamas for their concerts. A very good CD from a band that has finally matured! Totally worth the amount spent! They were one of the bands on the first WATCHA tour and most likely will be on it again. Definitely check them out!"
