Synopsis

Product Description
Bellafea may only consist of two members, but the amount of sheer rock energy that they spew forth is unmistakable. Two years after their self-released debut, Bellafea is even more on fire with a split 7? with Des_Ark out on Exotic Fever Records, and this, the Family Tree EP, on Pidgeon English Records. With this recording, Bellafea shows off their newly cut chops. The songs here are more fully realized, more mature than previous recordings. And that spells nothing but great for the band. While still embracing some of their dynamic song structures, Bellafea reaches new heights by exploring a wider stylistic range. Lead singer, Heather McEntire, finds a more mature voice, which gives the EP a full sound previously lacking in other recordings. The drums also come off warm and full, even huge at points. The interplay between the vocals, rhythm, and guitars is at times intentionally jarring, but more often this time they weave together, creating a smooth, harmonic texture. Family Tree features guest vocals by Aimee Argote of Des_Ark and Ivan Howard from The Rosebuds.

CD Reviews

I love this album

"Whoa, I saw that I hadn't reviewed this album and boy is it fabulous.

Now I gotta go put it on to remind myself why!

.... Here goes!

Be Still & Know

Wow this is what got me to buy this! (actually Pandora radio got me to buy this)

never heard anything like this song before and this alone does me every time... dynamite!

The other songs are good... different sounds... took me back but I can't for the life of me pin the artists it reminds me of... but good stuff.

They are not the same style as the first one just fyi.

The other song that pleases me to no end is the last song (6 songs on the album, short but sweet): Family Tree... song kinda creeps along and then totally busts out... I love it when that happens!
