THE BEST BEETHOVEN VIOLIN SONATAS RECORDING
Ho J. Kim | 05/03/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the best Beethoven Violin Sonatas recording. Period.

I see that people consider the Perlman's version as the best one.

Well.. This isn't true.

Perlman's sound on Beethoven sonatas isn't blending with Ashkenazy.

Perlman is an excellent violinist but .. he isn't the one for the Beethoven Sonatas.. Believe me..

On other side, Zukerman has amazing double stop, sound, blends perfect with Neikrug.

Zukerman made two beethoven sonatas recording.

one with Barenboim and one with Neikrug.

One with Barenboim is no good.

The sound quality ( 1960~1970s ), zukerman's sound in this recording... not good as Neikrug version. ( 1990s )

If you think Barenboim is a famous pianist so you should rather buy barenboim/zukerman , you are being just an average listener.

Neikrug is a better pianist for this composition.

So which Beethoven Sonatas you should buy ??

Zukerman/Neikrug Beethoven Violin Sonatas.

Zukerman and Neikrug...Beethoven Sonatas

"Very nicely remastered and total "ear candy". Zukerman and Neikrug are delightful together, with neither "upstaging" the other. And of course it's Beethoven so what's not to like!! If you wish to feel you are having a private concert in your home, these discs are for you. Delightful."
