CD ReviewsColorful and powerful Itzhak Yogev | ISRAEL | 02/10/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "I haven't heard the 6th yet, but the 5th is wonderful.
The sound of the orchestra is worm and colorful, and the music flows fluently and powerfully. The tempo is slow enough to allow you enjoy every nuance, but not too slow (32'05''). And the second movement is far more beautiful and interesting than in any other performance I heard, including the famous Kleiber. Maazel recorded the fifth with the same orchestra many years later, in a much more appreciated(and expensive) CD. I haven't heard it, but I doubt it can be much better. " |
