"Oh, love, yes indeed. Love.

Now, beyond that momentary young silliness, let's take a look at the product itself: two CDs of Jean-Pierre Rampal, arguably the greatest flute player of the 20th century, without a doubt one of the greatest to have lived, playing arguably the greatest composer ever (I'm biased, what can I say?), without a doubt one of the grand masters this earth has been blessed with, and I'm sorry, for how much exactly? Oh, eleven dollars?

Facts speak for themselves, but Rampal is truly a splendid musician. Not only are these pieces played with that nice tone that's enough for anyone looking for pleasant background music, but there's true depth to even the smallest blurbs. Each song has its own personality, all played to perfection by Rampal. In the end, there are simply two CDs of great music that happens to be flute chamber music.

These at times intimate, at times bouncy, at times just lovely pieces will be enjoyable for any flute appreciator. Whether these are duets, trios, or just plain old dances being played, quality is always high. People looking to expand their Beethoven collections would do well to purchase this as well, just to understand how splendidly Beethoven wrote and how nice just a few, small instruments can sound playing together (when the piano is not the main instrument, too!). This is a great bargain, nice to listen to and good to have. Enjoy!"

"I had this collection on LP's years ago and they finally became unplayable after so much use... It took me 30 years to find this collection on CD. I was overjoyed to find this for such a bargain price. You will not be disappointed with this purchase! Quiet yet intriguing, good study or meditation music. Great for relaxation. Good variety from quiet to vivacious. The interplay between flute and piano is pleasant on the ears and the mind/heart. This collection reproduces the entire contents of the old LP version as I knew it 30 years ago--now with digital sound and the durability of the CD! Chamber Music at it's best--and an awesome Beethoven addition to any classical collection!"
