Indie rock gem

"While they never reached the (indie level) success of groups like Superchunk or Archers of Loaf in the mid 90's, Becky Sharp could rock with the best of them. Their only album from 1995 was a indie rock gem that rarely saw the light of day outside of the gulf south (they were based out of Baton Rouge, LA.). Lead singer/songwriter Gabe Daigle's dreamy pop riffs and scratching vocals, Jon Kaufman's machine gun drumming, Chris Wynn's distorted bass, and (enter guitarists name here - sorry, I forgot it) were a full-blast onslaught of melodic punk that put other garage bands to shame. To put a simpler, finer point on it: Think of superchunk, but imagine that they were much better musicians and their songs didn't all sound the same. Sounds nice, doesn't it?"
