CD Reviews

Sad

"Well, it starts off promising enough. As I listened to the first few tracks, I wondered is it possible that 305 has returned with another classic? My question was soon answered as everything went downhill with rapid speed. This whole album is a joke. Mostly an assortment of pure filler and very unnecessary interludes. I've always been a big fan of Bass 305 and the first few albums were very good, but maybe they should've ended it with the "Departure". Mark and David seem to be at a point where they don't even care about their music anymore. That's really sad from a team who at one point showed so much talent. It's like they're not even trying anymore. This album seems to have been thrown together carelessly. It would've worked much more acceptably as an EP with just a few songs. "Energy" is reminiscent of their earlier classics, along with "New Generation". "305 Test" is nice to give your car audio system a workout and "Spiritual Awakening" sort of works. But most of the other stuff is just plain tired. The title track, which was pre-released as the first single, would've been the best track on the album by far, until they butchered it (for a reason unknown to me!) with a bad edit, taking out what was the best part. Bottom line, this album was an awful choice to make. They need to return to the studio and come again."

"This CD interested me for about 2 days, I haven't listened to it since. Their music is just too simple and monotonous to me anymore. It doesn't sound like much time at all was spent on the production of this disc, although some of the mastering sounds pretty nice, I suppose with great equipment that is no problem. There is also some bad off time editing on track 13. I was in fact a large fan of Bass 305 back in the day, but I'm sorry to say, it doesn't seem as though David and Mark know what is going on anymore, nor really care. I hope to see them produce something of better quality in the future, there is a lot of potential for bass music right now, the timing is right. It bothers me to not see them taking it anywhere."
