CD Reviews

Arguably one of the 10 best hardcore CD's ever.
Gordon Pryor | Chester, NJ USA | 01/18/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I don't generally bother to write reviews, but for this, I make an exeption. This record is simply phenomenal, and I wish I had words adequate to describe it. All I can really say is that it's one of those rare things in life that, for me at least, defies cynicism and manages to say something lasting. I suppose, if I wanted, I could rave about the guitar work on this record, or the drumming, or the vocals, or the hard-hitting lyrics- but this record, and Bane as an entity, exemplifies the idea of a whole that is more than the sum of its parts. Holding This Moment is not just a good straightedge record, not even a good hardcore record- it's a good record, period, and worth a listen no matter what your musical tastes. And if you like hardcore at all, I shouldn't need to tell you to buy this, because this is right up there with Crown of Thornz and Gorilla Biscuits on the list of essentials. Easily Bane's best work, and of a caliber most bands can only dream of achieving."
The best positive straightedge album out!

"This is a must have for any hardcore fan. A great mix of the old and new schools which has a positive message. Superhero is what being straightedge is all about. Bane is also a tremendous live band, the sing-alongs on the album work really well live."
Hardcore at its very best!

"The one thing I miss most about Massachusetts is the local hardcore scene. This album is filled with emotion and a fine example of hardcore music at its best-its really the best musical investment I've ever made-no kidding. This is one album that DOESN'T get old--no matter what! Aaron Berdard does an unbelievable job of conveying his emotions through these lyrics which keep you wanting more and more. I must have listened to this CD at least a hundred times and I'm ready to hear it again right now. From "Both Guns Blazing" to "Every Effort Made" this album is filled with hardcore music at its finest example. If your reading this and don't by this album, you're really missing out. I guarantee you'll love this one."
