"I too have worn out my original copy of this CD. It is not only my favorite, but my son (now 4) has been listening to it since he was 2 and has memorized most of the songs of the CD (even the spoken words selections). I am so glad that Bam allowed God to use her in such a mighty way in the recording of these songs. The singing and the instrumentals are absolutely wonderful. This is a must have for anyone who is serious about music and for anyone who is serious about praising and worshipping our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."
A rare gem...

""The King is Coming Any Day" is rare and extraordinary urban gospel. Truth be told, it transcends the 'urban' genre. It is something more; it is modern, serious, sacred music.

I would guess that Bam Crawford is not exactly a household name, but neither is Henry Purcell and a legion of others, who, throughout the years blessed the world with gorgeous, thoughtful, inspirational music. Hype doesn't make the artist.

While I'm not terribly enthusiastic about some of the up-tempo material here (Perpetual Praise, for one), all of the selections are rendered with stirring professional precision and great conviction. But such tunes as "My Help", "Holy, Holy, Holy", "Lord, You're Beautiful", and "Because of Jesus", are sublime expressions of love. If you are not a Christian, these lovely and passionate songs offer insight into what we believe. If you are a believer, these cuts are tantamount to holy. Even "The King is Coming Any Day" with its odd martial drum groove and shouts evolves into an almost Handel-esque anthem.

The stable of singers on this disc is sensational. From nearly-legit to Mahalia Jackson-influenced, it is a cornucopia of top flight gospel stylists. The instrumentalists are of the tight, take-no-prisoners variety as well. The saxophone sound/player doesn't quite hit the mark IMHO, but...

Compositionally, this is as good as good gets. Tapping a gospel-meets legit vibe, it works wonderfully. I haven't heard genuine SATB on a popular disc in ages, but it works in all its glory here.

Finally this offering goes well beyond the "what the Lord has done for me" department. It explores what our present and future duties should and will be in glorifying Him, who paid an unspeakable cost to redeem us. We owe Him praise forever.

This rather obscure disc is in a class by itself.
