CD Reviews

An underrated band that needs some recognition!

"well if you like surf rock, reggae and punk, then Ballyhoo is the band for you. Most band vocalists these days have whiny voices and can get pretty annoying, so after picking up this album a year ago, i gotta say the guy's voice actually sounds nice! this band is so underrated that even with their sophomore album (which is a major improvement from this album) still have not gain any publicity or spotlight. if you do like their sound please support them by buying this album, because they truly deserve unlike a bunch of emo bands out there."
One of the Best Bands Going!

"If you have never heard of Ballyhoo! I recommend jumping on the bandwagon as soon as possible because they're going to blow up and blow up big.

With the release of their first major album, 'Do It for the Money', Ballyhoo! prove themselves to be amazing musicians with songs that will stick in your head for a long while. Every song on the album is unique and nothing sounds recycled or as if it could have been a b-side. This album is 100% amazing in every sense of the word.

People who like Sublime or 311 will feel right at home with Ballyhoo! as their style somewhat resembles the aforementioned. Without question though, Ballyhoo! is a band with a whole lot of promise and after a practically perfect debut album leaves me with a lot of hope for the future.

Side note: Their live shows are amazing. After seeing them live once I immediately wanted to see them again. The songs on this album are even better when performed live [which is saying a whole lot]. Check em out!
