BAD HAGGIS delivers some truly incredible sonorities, fusing the most cutting-edge of Celtic with vocal and instrumental soundscapes, often-transcending stylistic boundaries. Always taking a different path than one might expect, BAD HAGGIS has created its own vocabulary and new hybrid of sound. Combining Scottish & Irish bagpipes, Irish tin whistles (see TITANIC), guitar, bass, drums, African percussion and vocals, ARK is the first full-length CD from the wildly imaginative group, BAD HAGGIS. With strong elements of Celtic, Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Alternative and World Beat genres, ARK weaves a sound and vibe that takes the listener on a voyage from start to finish. Starting with the Celtic-meets-Cool Jazz bagpipe piece, "Walking The Plank", the band sets up the listener's journey that visits Spain & West Africa ("La Gallega"), Ireland ("Paddy's), the '70's (Seals & Crofts' "Summer Breeze"), the future ("Get Out Reel"), and a Rock club ("October" & "His Tomb") -- all with a Celtic flavor. Containing both instrumental and vocal pieces, ARK mixes energy levels of flat-out jamming to slip-back-in-your-chair atmospheric melodies with serious vibe.
