CD Reviews

Never Dissapointed

"All there is to say is that once again DJ Baby Anne does not disappoint with her latest salvo of uber retro breatbeat hitz."
There is Only One Queen
Cory T. Shaeffer | Pittsburgh | 12/22/2008

"Baby Anne has defined the genre of breakbeat, with innovative beats and refreshing new twists on the original sound she helped bring to the forefront almost a full decade ago. Witness the reverberating flow of "Super Sonic" and the dreamy, intense passion of "Darkness Comes." From the opening track "Bass U" until the album's end, this thing grabs hold and never lets up. Baby Anne has even topped last year's effort, Past Present Future, which I thought was unbeatable. She has outdone herself with this set, however, as it hits with a resonance that is only felt in her records. With electronic music in general, by nature it can be fairly droning and nondescript. But with Baby Anne, you can always tell her beats from other imitators. And on "Ground & Pound," she has proven once again that every genre has its Queen - and Baby Anne is, undeniably, it."
Best range of breakbeat
Charles P. Ellis | Chicago, IL USA | 10/19/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This mix has the best mix of breakbeat including some hip-hop culture as well as old school breakbeat and everything in between. If you are looking for an old Baby Anne mix this is not the one to get, this one is cutting edge to go with the way music cultire is aiming today and she is at the cutting edge. Great mix CD with a new style but still keeping it real."
